~Crafted in Nashik and rooted in provenance, this recently launched luxury single malt is  setting new standards for McDowell’s & Co.~

McDowell’s & Co Distiller’s Batch Indian Single Malt recently won silver at the  renowned World Whisky Masters. This marks the liquid’s first award, after its recent launch in April 2024 – establishing its entry into the premium space. The competition included over 130 entries from over 44  brands. After a blind-tasting competition through seven panels of judges, the McDowell’s & Co Distiller’s Batch Indian Single Malt won silver.

As a limited-edition single malt of just 6000 bottles, the liquid is a rare amalgamation of wine and whisky – championed by the terroir of Nashik. The climate and land play a significant role in the whisky’s  maturation process, resulting in a liquid that stays true to its origin in every sip. Distilled and matured in Nashik Distillery, this triple cask whisky represents the pinnacle of Indian whisky making. First matured in  Ex-Bourbon Casks, carefully selected from a 60,000 cask-inventory, the liquid imbibes woody and spicy notes. Then, part of the whisky is finished in Cabernet Sauvignon Casks unique to the Sahyadri terrain, taking on a dark colour, floral notes, and fruity characters. The vanilla and creamy notes come from Virgin American Oak Casks, which Part of the whisky is also finished in.

Speaking on the win, Vikram Damodaran, Chief Innovation Officer, Diageo India said, “The McDowell’s & Co. Distiller’s Batch Indian Single Malt was designed to expand palates and experiences, curating a sense of Indian culture that evolves along with our consumers.
